Overview
Broadview was an interesting time in my career, where I really learned that my effort and skills would go a long way toward creating opportunities. I think I saw myself moving up quickly as an autodidactic polymath. That was an exciting realization and it has served me well ever since.
The work was the systems behind the advice: applications collecting and analyzing data on thousands of telecommunications, media and internet companies, which the bankers used to advise clients and structure mergers. It was 1999, and from the inside it still felt like the future arriving.
Highlights
Maintained the applications used to collect and analyze data on thousands of telecommunications, media and internet companies, supporting client advisory work and M&A structuring
Created a process to automate presentation generation for M&A proposals, replacing decks assembled by hand in PowerPoint
Implemented a new, independent domain for a new venture capital group and migrated all users and applications to the new environment
Gave technical guidance to a junior developer and a junior administrator
