Nifty's was a strong introduction to web3. It simply came at the wrong point in the cycle.
I believe in the promise of smart contracts, but I joined a traditional NFT company at the exact moment the market turned. We had big moments while I was there — The Matrix, Game of Thrones — but the secondary markets went with the cycle, and I never saw it on the upswing. I read where it was heading and left when I had the opportunity.
What I took from it holds up. I learned the primitives of web3 and how you connect a traditional web application to smart contracts, and I still believe in those. I'm grateful for the time there and the experience I gained: these are new primitives that will be part of web products long into the future.
